I find the human brain to be fascinating and I often pondered on philosophical questions as a little girl. My inquisitive nature has fueled my desire to pursue questions that seem almost impossible to answer. My interest in Africana studies stems from my identity as a human being within the African diaspora. I am fortunate that my studies provide invaluable information regarding history. I have found that psychology can be studied and observed across many disciplines, which makes me even more interested in it.

As someone with a plethora of interests, I am open to the path(s) my acquired knowledge may lead me! My flexibility has enriched my professional and even personal development. In my opinion, a good team member is one who knows the expectations and strives to meet or exceed them. Someone who is reliable, conscientious, and polite. I believe that I am a good team member because I possess the qualities listed above. I have been told that I am a pretty good leader, open-minded, and a humanitarian.

In regard to personal goals, I am working towards being more self-compassionate. I intend to maintain a balance within myself so that I can thrive and in turn serve others. I think I may take the phrase "It takes a village..." quite literally sometimes! My belief is that if you want to change some things, you have to first look within.

Periods of deep introspection led me to where I am today.

I give a lot of credit to the wonderful faculty and staff members at IUPUI for holding space for me to grow, explore, and even courageously embark on the journey of "adulting". My job in the Psychology Department has provided me wonderful opportunities. Thus far, I have been able to serve as the Public Relations officer and President of Psychology Club at IUPUI. I also served as the President of Psi Chi Honor Society. I have proudly photographed events and other occasions for the School of Science. I have volunteered as a research assistant under the wing of a delightful mentor. My peers/colleagues and professors within the School of Liberal Arts have been a tremendous blessing as well.

When I'm not actively "adulting", I enjoy attending art galleries/museums, resting, watching films, reading, photographing things that catch my eye, and exploring different plant-based recipes!
